These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Thymos mobile application, website, and related services ("Services").

By creating an account, accessing, or using Thymos, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use Thymos.

Thymos is operated by Thymos FZ LLC, registered in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates.

1. About Thymos

Thymos is an educational and reflective support platform designed for adults including parents, caregivers, teachers, and professionals.

Thymos provides CBT-informed educational tools, journaling features, behavioural reflections, learning resources, and AI-assisted support designed to encourage reflection and understanding.

Thymos is not:

  • a medical service,
  • a healthcare provider,
  • therapy,
  • crisis support,
  • or a substitute for professional mental health care.

Thymos does not diagnose, treat, or prevent medical or psychological conditions.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Thymos.

By using the Services, you confirm that:

  • you are aged 18 or over,
  • you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms,
  • and the information you provide is accurate.

3. Accounts

Users may create an account using email authentication.

You are responsible for:

  • maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials,
  • and all activity conducted through your account.

You agree not to:

  • share your account,
  • impersonate another person,
  • or provide false information.

4. AI-Generated Content

Certain features within Thymos use third-party artificial intelligence services to provide reflective and educational support content.

AI-generated responses are designed to support reflection, understanding, and learning and should be considered alongside your own judgement and, where appropriate, professional guidance.

Thymos does not provide medical advice, therapy, diagnosis, or crisis support. Users remain responsible for their own decisions, actions, and wellbeing.

5. Emergency and Crisis Situations

Thymos is not intended for use in emergencies or crisis situations.

If you or another person may be at risk of harm, or if urgent support is needed, contact:

  • emergency services,
  • a licensed healthcare provider,
  • or an appropriate crisis support service immediately.

6. User Content

Users may submit content including:

  • journal entries,
  • reflections,
  • behavioural observations,
  • and chat messages.

You retain ownership of content you submit.

By using Thymos, you grant us a limited right to process, store, and use submitted content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Services.

You agree not to submit content that:

  • is unlawful,
  • abusive,
  • harmful,
  • defamatory,
  • threatening,
  • infringes intellectual property rights,
  • or violates applicable laws.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • misuse the Services,
  • attempt unauthorised access,
  • interfere with platform security,
  • use the app for unlawful purposes,
  • exploit vulnerabilities,
  • or attempt to reverse engineer the platform.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

8. Subscriptions and Billing

Certain features of Thymos may require a paid subscription.

Subscriptions are processed through:

  • Apple App Store, or
  • Google Play Store.

Subscription terms, billing cycles, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are managed by the relevant platform provider.

Subscriptions may automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date through your Apple or Google account settings.

Prices may change from time to time where permitted by applicable platform policies and laws.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, design elements, software, graphics, logos, and materials within Thymos are owned by or licensed to Thymos FZ LLC unless otherwise stated.

You may not:

  • reproduce,
  • distribute,
  • modify,
  • copy,
  • or commercially exploit any part of the Services without prior written permission.

10. Privacy

Your use of Thymos is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, process, and protect personal information, including user-generated content such as journal entries, reflections, and chat interactions.

By using Thymos, you acknowledge that certain information may be processed by trusted third-party service providers that support app functionality, analytics, notifications, subscriptions, and AI-assisted features.

Please review the Privacy Policy carefully before using the Services.

11. Data Deletion and Retention

Users may delete their account and associated data directly within the app.

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, and enforce our agreements.

Certain limited technical or operational information may be retained temporarily where required for legitimate business, legal, fraud prevention, or security purposes.

12. Availability of Services

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Features, content, or functionality may change, be updated, suspended, or removed at any time.

We may perform maintenance, updates, or security improvements without prior notice.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Thymos FZ LLC shall not be liable for:

  • indirect losses,
  • emotional distress,
  • loss of data,
  • loss of profits,
  • or consequences arising from reliance on AI-generated content or use of the Services.

The Services are provided on an "as available" and "as is" basis without warranties of any kind.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where exclusion is not permitted by applicable law.

14. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to Thymos where:

  • these Terms are violated,
  • misuse is suspected,
  • unlawful activity occurs,
  • or continued access may create risk to users or the platform.

Users may stop using the Services and delete their account at any time.

15. International Use

Thymos may be accessed internationally. Users are responsible for complying with local laws applicable to their use of the Services.

16. International Privacy Rights

Thymos aims to handle personal information responsibly and in accordance with applicable data protection and privacy laws.

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights relating to access, correction, deletion, or restriction of your personal information under applicable laws, including GDPR or similar international privacy frameworks.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

Updated versions will be published within the app or on our website with a revised "Last Updated" date.

Continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates.

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of the United Arab Emirates.
